Introduction 专题介绍

With the sustainable development of product innovation and state-of-the-art high-technology industries, it is necessary for further advancements in integration, miniaturization, and complex metallic components. Additive manufacturing (AM) methods have garnered considerable attention because of their ability to produce near-net-shape magnets with improved magnetic properties, eliminating or minimizing the need for post-processing machining and processing cost. Depending on the powder feeding system, AM/3DP processes are divided into two major categories: (I) powder-bed-based techniques such as selective laser melting (SLM) and (II) powder-feed-based techniques such as directed energy deposition (DED). The SLM process shows high manufacturing accuracy using a highly-focused laser beam and very thin powder layers. On the other hand, DED, also known as laser engineered net shaping (LENS), exhibits higher productivity at the expense of shape precision and complexity. This session focuses and welcomes the research work or application case on the development AM process in the field of materials, processes and applications.
